    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

When The Fairly OddParents ended production on Nickelodeon again around 2012, it will finally be adapted into an all-new series of over 500 comic book stories featured on over 50 volumes that would eventually feature the characters of Cosmo & Wanda (and their son, Baby Poof), plus Timmy Turner, Vicky (and her little sister, Tootie), and even many other characters from the show plus an all-new set of characters who would later join the cast of The Fairly OddParents, and will eventually be titled the show's animated comic book adaptation of the same name. Almost 10 volumes would each get released each year for 5 years, and'll all eventually be published by Dark Horse Comics (under license from Nickelodeon), beginning with the first 10 volumes being released in 2013.

Almost all of its character designs themselves who'll finally appear in these 50 volumes (with 10 comic book stories each) will be exactly the same as in the animated television series itself on Nickelodeon, but they'll look actually different; because all of its characters from The Fairly OddParents will finally appear in these 500 comic book stories, they will finally have Danny Phantom-like touches (five digits on each hand and on each foot), leg and arm designs being updated (including Hartman Hips for almost all of its female human characters by either women or young ladies), and with their necks added below their heads. Timmy Turner himself finally gets to wear black/white Chuck Taylor All-Star oxford/lo-top sneakers on his feet, whereas Tootie gets to wear white knee-high length socks with her black Mary Janes, and Tootie's older sister Vicky herself gets to wear red/white Chuck Taylor All-Star oxford/lo-top sneakers on her feet; in addition, Cosmo and Wanda themselves will wear brown casual tie-up dress shoes on their feet as well (and their son Baby Poof gets to wear all-white baby shoes on their feet). There have been multiple differences being given in these 500 comic book stories on over 50 volumes featuring characters from The Fairly OddParents (which are all under license from Nickelodeon, and are being published by Dark Horse Comics); the following examples include:

#1: Mr. & Mrs. Turner, A.J.'s Mom, Vicky & Tootie's Parents, and all of its human parent figures to another seventeen of its human school-children (who either have a single mother, single father, or mother-and-father) are all appearing in these 500 comic book stories in over 50 volumes. They are all only portrayed from the neck down, with their faces being completely hidden as partially-seen characters (which appears to be as its result of the fairies' view); however, the back view of their heads were being shown throughout these comic book stories as well.

#2: Mr. & Mrs. Turner themselves wear the same attire as their animated counterparts from the show itself; however, Mr. Turner himself will wear his bright blue coat underneath his long-sleeved dress shirt with black necktie, and Mrs. Turner herself will two pairs of rounded wristbands instead of wearing only one pair, but in the same exact color.

#3: A.J's Mom is finally wearing her dark pink business-woman suit, consisting of her white long-sleeved dress shirt with black necktie that would eventually be tucked into her dark pink knee-length short skirt and underneath her dark pink tux vest and coat, and would wear her white high-heeled dress shoes on her feet.

#4: Unlike Tootie's appearance in the regular Nicktoon series itself (as its spin-off of Oh Yeah! Cartoons), Tootie doesn't wear braces on her teeth at all.

#5: A.J. is one of the two African-American students in Timmy's class with the other being A.J.'s girlfriend Annie, and can be seen having his full head of black hair (exactly the same as his 40-year old mother, who also has African-American toned skin like her animated counterpart from the show itself).

#6: Jorgen Von Strangle will appear in these comic book stories; however, he can be seen wearing his jet-pack during most of the time where he shows Cosmo & Wanda (and their son, Baby Poof), among other human-like fairies who would appear during the "Fairy World" universe where they meet Cosmo & Wanda (and their son, Baby Poof).

[IMG] According to Butch Hartman, Dark Horse Comics is adapting Nickelodeon's "The Fairly OddParents" into an all-new series of over 50 volumes of comic books (with 10 stories per volume), and all of them are being released between 2013 and 2017.
