I've owned my one:one pod machine for nearly 2 years now and surprisingly it's still pumping out coffee every day, the shortfall with this system is the pods. The machine itself rates a full 5 stars, made by esalton, has certainly proven to be a little workhorse. Fairly easy to clean, doesn't mind when you don't put a pod in wrong and water squirts out everywhere, it just keeps going and going, my beef with melitta is the pods. At first everything was peachy, the store where I purchased the machine always had the pods, then, supply got spotty and very few retailers carried this brand (they ALWAYS had plenty of pods for the other brands) which led me to order the pods from podheadz. After almost a year the original store started receiving a steady supply again. Now, in the spring of 2006, Melitta has started making their pods "universal", which means they fit the other brand machines, not they're own. Sure, you can stuff their pods into the machine which barely, and I do mean barely, fit. Why not stuff someone elses pods! An email to Melitta produced no answer whatsoever. Not only does it take some stuffing to get the pod into the pod holder, the pod contains more coffee, even the 8oz button produces a coffee so strong it's nearly undrinkable, and I like my coffee strong. Sure I could hang out and press the small button twice or something but that defeats the purpose of having a one button coffee machine and negates the "cup of coffee in about a minute" principal. Bottom line: Melitta has abondoned their own pod machine. My advice: buy a different machine, the the market really opening up there are plenty of better choices.
Rating: - Defective and/or Poor quality
I bought mine a few weeks ago. The first week and worked fine. Now when I try to brew coffee, the unit struggles to pump water. It slows down to a trickel and then won't shut off until I shut it off. It works fine with tea pods, but bombs every time on coffee pods.
I emailed Melitta about the problem. They told me to call Salton, directly at 1-800-233-9054. After navigating the prompts and waiting on hold for a while, Salton told me to prime the unit ever couple of weeks. She told me if that didn't help, then I could either return it to them, or to the store. I tried it but it didn't help, so I am returning it to the store, JC Pennys.
I wouldn't recommend this unit to anyone.

The Melita one cup coffee makers are a great invention. They are easy to use, easy to clean up and are perfect if you only want one or two cups of coffee. It makes tea and other beverages too.
However, I have found that flavor and quality of the actual coffee in the pods which fit into this machine lacking. The coffee's taste flat - like they were ground two years ago and have been sitting in the pods since. Of course, if what you normally drink is Folgers or something like that, you probably won't notice this.
Until they improve the quality and selection of the actual coffee's that work with this unit, I'll continue to use fresh ground coffee in a French Press.
Rating: - The quick and simple approach to good coffee on demand...
I bought this coffee maker for my husband a little over a year ago as a supplement to our Cuisinart Grind 'n Brew coffee bar. Initially, I chose the Melitta One:One because of the simplicity. My husband constantly neglected to clean the Cuisinart after brewing (a time-consuming chore with all the parts involved), which left him "coffee-less" on those hectic, running late mornings. Tired of hearing him complain about the coffee he was "forced" to buy on those rushed mornings, I thought the Melitta One:One would be the perfect back-up plan.
My husband, skeptical at first, loves this coffee maker... and trust me, he's as picky as they come!! Our poor little Cuisinart (a $200 investment) hasn't seen the light of day in a year. It has been replaced by the One:One. It makes a very good cup of coffee in about a minute and clean-up is a breeze. Just toss the used javapod into the trash and you're ready for the next cup. The entire coffee maker can be cleaned in just a few minutes. Best of all, since the javapods are completely sealed, there are no messy coffee grounds to deal with.
We've tried all of the flavors available through Melitta; Go Hazelnuts (hazelnut flavored coffee) and French Kisses (french vanilla flavored coffee) are the favorites in our home. We've even joined the One:One club and have the javapods delivered directly to our home once a month for only $4.99 per box, much less than we've seen them priced in stores.
All in all, a quick and convenient way to enjoy a very good cup of coffee at home.
Rating: - Works great, even with other PODs!
Well, it seems that other people have had problems with this particular machine, but mine is great. I was able to put Maxwell House PODs in mine, and it works fine, no leaks. I also used a Celestial Seasons teabag in it, and had it make me some tea! Worked perfectly.
