Books : Season's Eatings: A Very Merry Garfield Christmas
Rating: - A Seasonal Feast of Hilarity and Fun!
Get ready to Ho Ho Ho and Ha Ha Ha your brains out with this truly wonderful collection of Garfield Christmas Comic strips to the year 2002! Although, like many Garfield fans, you probably have either read or read and memorized all the Christmas comics from the furry fat cat over the years, there is something truly wonderful about having them basically gift-wrapped and put into one book to peruse at your leisure.
But that's not all that's in this wonderful collection. In an effort to keep Garfield-addicts like myself in perpetual penury, Jim Davis and Co. have added about 15 pages of extras such as "Big Fat Mery Holiday Tips" and "The Twelve Snacks of Christmas" sections that are found in the middle.
This alone might not be enough to induce anyone but a hard-core Garfield fan or collector to buy the book, yet they do add a few nuances not found in the collection of strips that are published annually. Moreover there is something very nice about being able to turn a few pages and see how the strip and the writing has evolved since Jim Davis began publishing it in 1978 - and it's all in colour too.
A really neat little collection and a great book to buy for the Garfield fan at home or abroad. And whether it is December or July, cold or hot, "Season's Eatings: A Very Merry Garfield Christmas" is sure to keep the spirit of Season, and the spirit of humour, alive and well throughout the year.
Rating: - A Very Merry Garfield Christmas
Despite the fact that the Garfield comic strip seems to be heading in a downward spiral, the majority of the books still remain good, and this compilation is no exception. Printed in full color (even the daily strips) and containing all Christmas comics from 1978 to 2003 (as well as some cute drawings), this is the ultimate holiday collection for Garfield fans. This book is also unusual in that it reveals more of Garfield's soft side than ever before. As he said one Christmas day, "Christmas. It's not the giving. It's not the receiving. It's the loving." Happy Holidays!
Rating: - Rehash, but good rehash
This a great book. However, if you have all the strip compliations already, the only thing new is the 2002 strips for Christmas, and the fact that many of those from the 80's are now in color. Still, it's Garfield, its funny, and its nice to have them all in one book.
Rating: - Best Christmas Ever!
This book was given to me Christmas 2003. I immediately started reading it and declared it was fun having xmas w/Garfield and Odie.
